To conduct the research, accurate biographical information is required: names, surnames and patronymics, place and years of birth, place of residence, achievements of famous family members. Completeness and clarity of information are a guarantee of the correct search for the necessary data.<\/p>\n<p>The main sources of genealogical research and family history are birth records and civil status records. Other equally important materials are family and property records (for sub-Russian Ukraine, these include, for example, household and household lists, audit \u201cfairy tales\u201d, lists of income tax payers, compulsory insurance payers, voters and citizens who were deprived of the right to vote; guardianship cases, boundary books, documentation of the censuses of 1917, 1921, 1926, and 1939), biographical sources (service (formulary) lists and personal files, lists of employees of enterprises, institutions, and organizations, members of religious communities, students, documentation on military service, filtration and archival and investigative files). This includes data such as the year and date of birth of a family member. First, we look for a birth record of a person in the registry office at the place of birth.<\/p>\n<p>If this information is found, we will learn the names and patronymics of the parents. In order to find other family members (sisters and brothers), a careful review of birth and death records year by year is required. Marriage records should be reviewed to determine the years of birth and place of registration (possible place of birth) of the parents or the mother&#039;s maiden name.<\/p>\n<p>You need to pay attention to all people with the same last name, as they may be relatives.<\/p>\n<p>Reviewing family lists and census records will significantly speed up and facilitate the research. Based on the years of death and birth given in these documents, it is possible to find the necessary civil records, avoiding a complete review of all available registry books. If the data required for the research is missing, you can refer to other secondary documents - lists of recruits, business documentation, etc.<\/p>\n<p>To facilitate the construction of a family tree, it is recommended to fill out genealogical questionnaires for each person found. The questionnaire includes the surname, first name, patronymic, place and date of birth, date of marriage and death, parents, social status, search data, etc. The researcher can simplify the questionnaire, enter other data that may interest him.
